There are three types of manganese ores:
- oxide,
- carbonate,
- mixed (oxide-carbonate)
The oxide ores are of the most importance in the industry. Manganate, hausmannite, pyrolusite, psilomelane, cryptomelane as well as about a dozen of minerals fall under this category
