Strength classes 240, 270, 320, and 355 by their characteristics correspond to S240GP, S270GP, S320GP, and S355GP as per EN 10248-1.
A pile can be manufactured of improved corrosion-resistant steel due to copper alloying, classes 320 and 355 as per TU 0925-008-00186269-2012:
- with increased copper content ranging from 0.20 to 0.35 % (320Д1, 355Д1), with high copper content ranging from 0.35 to 0.50 % (320Д2, 355Д2); classes 345 as per GOST 19281 -89, C345 as per TU 27772-88:
- with copper content ranging from 0.15 to 0.30 % (345Д, С345Д).
A pile is made of welding steel, which is ensured by chemical composition of steel with limited carbon equivalent that should not exceed 0.45 percent.
Z-type sheet piles
The most importance characteristics of Z-sections are an extended shape of the wall and equally-spaced location of locks on both sides of the neutral axis. They have a positive impact on the resistance moment. The advantages of AZ® series sections with the exclusive characteristics and checked properties of Larssen lock lie in the following:
- competitive resistance moments/weight ratio;
- increased moment of inertia to reduced bend;
- large width ensuring highly productive diving;
- good corrosion resistance due to the steel thickening at critical corrosion points

Furring profile
Furring Profile Sheet Pile
Furring Profile Sheet Pile has a great deal of advantages as follows:
- a variety of sections with some series with different geometrical characteristics being formed of them makes it possible to choose the most technically and cost-effective decisions for each concrete project;
- the combination of a larger depth of the profile wave in regards to a larger flange thickness ensures superior static properties of the profiles;
- the symmetric form of a separate pile makes these section suitable for repeated use;
- possibility of assembling and fixation of profiles in pairs within the workshop conditions makes it possible to improve quality of diving and operational performance;
- light installing of the anchor devises and articulated joints is available even under water;
- good corrosion resistance due to the steel thickening at critical corrosion points

The values of moment of inertia and elastic section modulus characterize a transverse force transferable through the lock.
Standard EN 1993-5. Class 1 is assigned after check of the rotary power of Class 2 cross-sections.
A set of tables with all data necessary for the development of project in accordance with
Standard EN 1993-5 may be required in our Technical Department.
The thickness of all PU® sections may be changed for ± 0.5 to 1 mm against order.
Longevity of sheet piles
Unprotected steel is subjected to corrosion in the atmosphere, water or earth that may result in its damage.
Local impairment and rust as a rule are considered as the problems eliminating at the site.
In dependence to the requirements for service life and capabilities for access to the construction for its maintenance, the longevity of steel structure may be ensured by with the use of one or some techniques:
- protection by means of application of coating a rule only for the zones with a high risk for initiation of corrosion);
- usage of more powerful profile or higher steel grade to ensure larger reserve by the static characteristics;
- usage of steel grade developed for sea water, ASTM A690 (for the splash zone);
- avoidance of the maximum bending moments in the zones of high corrosion probability;
- location of concrete wall capping below the low-water level;
- cathodic protection by induced current or anodic earthing (protection of surface in permanent contact with water);
- usage of steel grade AmLoCor® (permanent diving zone and low-water zone)
All sections are delivered with the steel grades in Accordance EN 10248-1. The possibility for
delivery of sections with the special steel grades should be ascertained. Possible combinations are given in the Table below. At the Customer’s request, there may be delivered the special steel grades, such as for example, S 460 AP, the steel grades according to the United States Standard ASTM A 572, the steel grades with improved corrosion resistance characteristics, such as for example, AmLoCor and
ASTM A 690 or copper steel in accordance with EN 10248 Part 1.
LARSSEN Sheet Piles
- The values of section modulus may be used only in the static calculations even if at least every second lock in the wall is working in shear.
The length ranges from 30 to 36 m at the request.
The calculations are based on the weight of a separate pile (kg/m).

Z- type profile
Z-type and straight web profiles are manufactured with the length ranging from 30 to 36 m at the request. The calculations are based on the weight of a separate pile (kg/m).

SLU Sheet Piles
U-type profile have a great deal of advantages:
- Combination of a large profile depth with high static characteristics
- Possibility of repeated use due to the symmetry of separate elements
- Possibility to pair the piles at the plant making for improvement in quality and ease in installation
- High corrosion resistance

SLZ Sheet Piles
The most important characteristics of Z-sections are an extended shape of the wall and equally-spaced location of locks on both sides of the neutral axis. They have a positive impact on the resistance moment. The advantages of Z-sections lie in the following:
- Large width and ease in installation.
- Competitive resistance moment/weight ratio;
- Increased moment of inertia with reduced bend
- High corrosion resistance

SLZ Sheet Piles
The most important characteristics of Z-sections
are an extended shape of the wall and equally-spaced location of locks on both sides of the neutral axis. They have a positive impact on the resistance moment. The advantages of Z-sections lie in the following:
- Large width and ease in installation.
- Competitive resistance moments/weight ratio;
- Increased moment of inertia with reduced bend
- High corrosion resistance

PVC sheet piles (plastic sheet pile)
Usage of plastic sheet walls as a construction element
Scopes of Applicability
The characteristics of construction method with the use of sheet pile are as follows:
- there is no need for earth excavation and its transportation;
- cutting the time for construction due to the use of ready-for-assembly sheet-pile wall elements, which do not need much space;
- after assembly the sheet-pile walls take up minimum space;
- higher safety along with high bearing capability;
- impervious to weather;
- make it easy to check the properties of material during the use phase;
- guarantees a construction material with high accommodation capability and possibility of repeated use, which may be pulled out from the soil simply and without residue
